Point Pleasant Park Fall 2007 Forest Restoration Work

HRM Urban Forestry crews, Parks staff, and contractors will be working in Point Pleasant Park in late October and November 2007.

Completion of the work has been made possible by a substantial donation from the Canadian Federal Government.

Combined donations from Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada, the Canadian Forest Service, and Parks Canada Agency are assisting in the renewal and protection of the natural and cultural resources in Point Pleasant Park.

The park will remain open with some temporary trail closures as workers complete fall forest maintenance work in conjuction with end of season tree planting.

Four projects will be taking place from the end of October until completion of the work.  To learn more about each project, please click on the individual project name.

1. Norway Maple Removal Project (selected areas of Point Pleasant Park)

2. Forest Thinning & Tree Spacing (Cable Road area)

3. Hazard Abatement Work (throughout Point Pleasant Park)

4. Fall Tree Planting (selected areas of Point Pleasant Park)
