Near Prince of Wales Tower, Point Pleasant Park (HRM 2002) |
"I always loved running...it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs."
Jesse Owens

Running Tips
- Please be aware that you will be sharing the park with adults and children, park workers, walkers, dog walkers and their dogs (both on leash and off leash), cyclists, other runners, picnickers, artists, birders, urban wildlife, and the occasional Canadian National Defence helicopter (don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong).
| - Packs of speedy runners can be intimidating (maybe it's all that spandex, who's to say?). Please remember to share the path and give way to those visitors who are less agile, or are unaware that you are approaching them.
| - Roads, trails, and paths in the park are surfaced in a variety of materials: fine & coarse gravels, wood chips, & compacted earth. Appropriate footwear will make your visit more enjoyable.
| - Please be aware that weather conditions affect the roads, trails, and paths in the park. Use caution - you may encounter ruts, washouts, mud, and other hazards caused by rain and wind.
| - Keep in mind when running through the park to leave room on the path for other park visitors, and please use caution when approaching park visitors to pass them.
| - Are you part of an organized running group that uses the park? Please consult the Bookings section of the web site.
